BIOGRAPHY
Tess Finch is an Australian actor, writer, and musician based in Vancouver, Canada. She is interested in the quiet moments that shape a life: the people we become, the people we leave behind, and the space between the two. Across her work, she explores identity, connection, and the contradictions of being human: finding tenderness and humour in the process of becoming.
Born on the Gold Coast, Tess established herself in Australian independent film and theatre before relocating to Vancouver. She recently starred in, wrote, and composed the award-winning short film A Little Burnt. Her screen credits include three installments of Project Shivers and the lead role in the viral short film One Last Time. She also starred as Monica in The Lab, receiving Best Supporting Actor at Brisbane’s Freshblood Festival.
Tess writes for literature, screen, and stage. Her short stories Spiced Eggplant Curry and The Prophet both placed first in the Independent Education Union’s Literary Competition, with The Prophet also receiving a Highly Commended award from Kill Your Darlings.
As a musician, Tess creates genre-blending work rooted in indie, pop, folk, and jazz, with a focus on confessional lyricism. She has also composed scores for award-winning short films including The Ick, Sketched, and Again.
Tess is currently developing a sitcom television series, feature film, and stage play, all rooted in her fascination with human connection and the messy, tender experience of being alive.
